The Johns Manville Roofing Systems Group Forms Preferred Accounts Group

Team Solves Roofing Issues for Owners of Multiple Properties

Denver, Colorado (12/22/1998) --- Johns Manville has formed the Preferred Accounts Group to work with national owners and developers of retail and commercial buildings to assist them in solving their roofing issues. The JM team of experts will meet with owners of multiple properties to learn of any roofing issues they face. JM will then draw on the depth of expertise within their organization to develop a specification that allows the owner to select the optimum roofing system for their specific requirements. Requirements may include cost, proposed length of ownership, or special design considerations.

"We have been very pleased with the work we have completed with Johns Manville," said Calvin R. Schreiner, vice president with ProLogis, the largest publicly held owner and operator of distribution properties in the United States. "Their complete commercial roofing systems capabilities enable them to offer appropriate solutions for various situations," he said.

This service is provided at no cost or obligation for the owner or developer to specify JM products. All of the members of the group are there to service the needs of customers and are on a flat salary. They are not involved in commissioned sales. To assure customers that competitive information remains confidential, JM initiates a confidentiality agreement.

John Busch, a 30-year JM veteran, heads the Preferred Accounts Group. Busch was formerly director or marketing for the Roofing Systems Group. He is a recognized industry leader, a past president and 11-year member of the board of directors of the Single Ply Roofing Institute (SPRI), a member of the board of regents for the Roofing Industry Educational Institute (RIEI) and a member of the board of directors of the Polyisocyanurate Insulation Manufacturers Association (PIMA).

The other members of the team have diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise, which brings a number of benefits to customers. Two members of the team come from recent acquisitions Johns Manville has made in the thermoplastic roofing membrane business-a Johns Manville Preferred Accounts Group rapidly growing industry segment. Russ Langill comes to the group from HPG International, Inc. and Steve Crone comes from Seal-Dry/USA Inc. Both were in the Preferred Accounts Group for their respective companies. Brad Burdic is a registered architect and has been with JM for eight years, serving most recently as Territory manager, Southern California. Tom Doherty most recently was a JM regional sales manager for the southeast region and previously he was a national sales manager with Nord Bitumi, another JM acquisition.
