Johns Manville to Roof New Bronco Stadium

Local Company Selected for 200,000 Square Foot Roofing System Project

Denver, Colorado (7/17/2000) --- Johns Manville has been selected to provide the 200,000 square foot roofing system for the new Bronco stadium. The challenging project has 150 separate roof areas that start from the lower concourse service level and extend through the upper level of the stadium.

"This project is particularly challenging," said Lee Drotar, operations manager of CEI West Roofing Company, Inc. the contractor who is installing the roofing system. "The roofing section under the bleachers is very difficult to access, there is no natural light, and special accommodations were necessary to provide adequate ventilation," he said.

Two different Johns Manville roofing membranes have been selected for the project. The company's UltraGard® EPDM adhered roofing membrane will be utilized on those roofing sections not visible from the air. A gray UltraGard PVC adhered roofing membrane will be used on all other sections. The dual specification is both aesthetically pleasing and cost effective. In addition, the company will supply all other components of the total roofing system that will carry a 15-year no dollar limit guarantee.

"We are delighted to be selected to provide the roofing system for this high profile Denver project," said Bartley E.Roggensack, Jr. Vice President of the Johns Manville Roofing Systems Group. "While we certainly like to be considered for all major roofing projects, this one holds an added significance for Johns Manville employees because our company is headquartered here."

The Metropolitan Football Stadium District selected the joint venture team of Turner Construction and HINT Sports Architecture to oversee design-build of the project.
