Johns Manville Roofing Plants Win Safety Awards

Altamira, Mexico and Oklahoma City Safety Record Recognized by ARMA

Denver, Colorado (12/1/2000) --- The Johns Manville (NYSE: JM) roofing systems plant in Altamira, Tamaulipas C.P. Mexico was recently recognized by ARMA (Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association) with a Perfect Employee Safety Award for 1999 based on no lost or restricted workdays and no OSHA incidents. This award followed the recently presented ARMA President's Award for Altamira's 1999 safety performance. Altamira's perfect safety record placed it at the forefront of a group of 30 plants working between 100,000 and 200,000 man-hours.

 
The company's Oklahoma City, Okla. plant came in second in the group. Oklahoma City also was presented with ARMA's Perfect Employee Safety Award.
