San Francisco, California (2/16/2001) --- The Johns Manville Roofing Systems Group introduced AquaVert™ PVC, a patented factory fabricated PVC (polyvinyl chloride) air conditioning (A/C) condensation drainage system today in conjunction with the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) meeting in San Francisco. AquaVert PVC consists of a base channel fabricated from reinforced PVC film with Elvaloy® by Dupont, providing increased resistance to A/C condensate. A spun polyester fabric is adhered to the underside (fleece back). The rails, which are heat welded along each side of the channel, are fabricated from durable PVC extrusions that will withstand normal roof-top traffic without losing their shape.
The AquaVert PVC product protects the surface of the roof system from A/C condensate and delivers it efficiently to the roof drainage system. The fleece backing on AquaVert PVC allows compatibility with the adhesives for a variety of roofing membranes, including built-up, modified bitumen and all single ply.
"AquaVert PVC provides a number of advantages to the building owner," said Peter McCracken, market manager accessory products. "It eliminates the need for piping systems, it has a low profile so it doesn't disrupt roof top traffic and the channel is flushed by normal rainfall. The Elvaloy provides added protection from the A/C condensate. This new accessory is just one more product in our full line of roofing system products."
