Denver, Colorado (4/4/2003) --- Ray Corbin has received the prestigious 2003 Richard Horowitz Award given by the Roof Consultants Institute (RCI) for the best technical article published in Interface, the RCI’s technical journal. Corbin shares this year’s award with Lyle D. Hogan.
The award is named for the late Richard M. Horowitz, RRC, FRCI who is a past president of RCI. He was a driving force behind RCI’s RRC exam and Interface. Other recent winners of the award include William Kirn (2002), Steven Murray (2001) and Robert Haddock (2000).
Corbin is the Director of Better Understanding Roofing Systems Institute (BURSI) a position he has held for 20 years. BURSI is a 31-year industry acclaimed roofing educational program sponsored by Johns Manville Roofing Systems Group. He is a well-known author and industry speaker.
Corbin earned his Bachelor’s Degree in technical management from Regis University in Denver. He worked for 47 years as an executive for Johns Manville Corporation. He holds four U.S. patents for roofing shingle design and application.
